A Late Friend Making Monday

I was browsing the blogosphere, catching up on other blog that I read. I was reading Vicki’s Blog @ Fattofiguregirl, she had a post title Friend Making Monday, which was a response to a post on AllTheWeigh.com. I’m definitely late because it was for last Monday, but I wanted to answer the questions anyway. So here I go:

Goals and More

1. Brag about some of your daily, healthy habits.  I make smoothies just about every day; my favorite ingredient is Chia Seed. I gave up pop (soda) completely, and I’m starting to find joy in eating salads.

2. Do you track your daily food intake? If so, how? No I do not track my daily food intake but I am thinking about joining weight watchers.

3. What do you want to change most about your daily routine?  I wish I could stop craving cakes, cookies and pies.

4. How often do you exercise?  I’m doing Couch to 5K (C25k), so I usually run 3-4 times a week

5. How do you stay on track when you’re on the go? I have to constantly remind myself that I’m training for a marathon; every time I see sweets I want to eat them.  I chew a lot of gum to help with the cravings and I always have a cliff bar on me at all times.

6. What’s one excuse you use that prevents you from reaching your goals?  There are no excuses in my book. Excuses are tools of the incompetent use to build bridges to nowhere; those who use them become monuments of nothing!

7. What scares your most about your journey? Failing scares me the most. I fear that I’m going to wake up one day and say forget this whole training for a marathon mess, and eat about 3 dozen cookies.

8. What do you think will change most when you reach your goal? (If you have reached it, what’s different?)  Hopefully the way I think about things will change when I reach my goal; because running a marathon is just as much mental as it is physical.

9. What motivates you to reach your goals?  My main motivation is my self-doubt. I want to prove to myself that I lose weight and run a marathon. I’m constantly telling myself, “That I’ve never seen an obese marathon runner in my life.”

10. Share a few of your goals.

  • Lose one pound a week
  • Compete C25K
  • Run a 5K, 10K, and half marathon by the end of the year
  • Choose a marathon to run by Jan 1, 2013

Until next time I’m 300 Pounds And Running!
